Merrilla, Goulburn, NSW One of Australia's most historic house and gardens which has been transformed to its former glory. In close consultation with the owners and their architect, the garden has been significantly enhanced and developed, creating the epitome of a classic Australian country garden which is now keenly visited by an enthusiastic gardening public.

A courtyard paved in local slate is softened with generous garden beds about the base of the walls of the house.

A substantial swimming pool and pavilion was carefully integrated into the existing garden. A gravel drive that passed across in front of the house has been replaced with a level lawn bordered with flowering shrubs and perennials. The homestead now sits comfortably within its garden setting.
